Welcome to the Appreciation Garden! This blog was the brainchild of my brilliant spouse. One day, I was sharing with him about this wonderful artist I had started following on Facebook. I told him about how much I loved her art, and bemoaned that we only had so much money and space to collect art. I was also trying to find a way to create something that I could share with others. He told me that since I loved writing, I could create a blog where I wrote about all of the artists that I loved. Not critiques, but a kind of love letter. And by sharing about them, it could also introduce others to their work.

My hope is to grow this garden of words full of beautiful artists and creators. My reach isn’t very big. Most of the people I am listing already have a following that is exponentially greater than mine. That isn’t the point. The world needs more beauty, love, and kindness in it. These artists and creators are adding to it with their creations. I am adding to it by showing my love for them and sharing it with you.
