I don’t remember when I first came across Karen Hallion’s art, but I loved it from the very first moment. Whether it was the style, because she seemed to love the same fandoms I did, or her activism, I was hooked. From Disney, Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Star Trek, to her She Series and He Series, her art is always distinctive and on point.

In addition to her art (which can be found on prints, posters, t-shirts, and stickers), Karen also published two books.
I bought my kiddo a copy of Karen’s book Never, Never Quit, which features Karen’s fictionalized younger self, Celara. The book is about the practice and tenacity required to get better at something.
She later held a Kickstarter for her She Series book, which paired her art with mini essays about the lives of the amazing women she highlighted in the book. You can get copies of the book in her etsy shop.
She also created a second version of the She Series using fictional women, including Princess Leia, Captain Marvel, the 13th Doctor Who, Elphaba, Tiana, Lieutenant Uhura, Scully, Professor McGonegal, and so many more! Here’s my poster of the fictional ladies.
Because lots of her art can be purchased in sticker form, I’ve found it hard to keep from buying it all! Karen is unabasededly feminist and supports the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and I love that, too.
